Checks can be created in three ways: |
| |
- from recurring payments that have a regular schedule
- from recurring payments that happen on an irregular schedule
- from a one-time entry
|
| |
| |
| |
The recurring payments program makes it easy to provide consistent reporting to clients
because the transaction codes and comment structure are set up one time for the series of
payments. Scheduled payments won’t be forgotten because the system will automatically
create them based on the next payment date.
Recurring payments can be set up for a fixed amount or a percentage of the current income
cash balance.
Payees can be selected from the central address file, or from the related parties for an
account. For single checks, you can also enter a one-time payee.
When releasing unscheduled checks, you can change the amount and date. You have the
option to apply the changes to this instance only, or to change future checks as well.
Check transactions can flow through to the 1099-MISC when applicable.
A memo line can be printed on the face of the check, for information such as IRS payment
details. |
| |
Each check can be flagged to: |
| |
- combine with other items to the same payee from the same account
- combine with other items to the same payee from other accounts
- always print each item on a separate check (such as for IRS payments)
|
| |
The Check Writing Module can be configured to allow each staff member to enter checks to
a private area for balancing before releasing to the main check writing files. |
| |
The Pre-Check Listing prints a report for easy review of a check batch. The report shows
how items will be consolidated, and prints totals for funds transfer.
If multiple items are combined on one check, and the description exceeds the space
available on the stub, a separate page prints on plain paper to detail all stub items.
The Overdrawn Report indicates if checks in the current batch will result in a negative cash
balance for an account. This program combines all pending checks for that account with all
pending daily transactions and compares that total to the current cash balance.
After checks are printed, you can export a text file of checks for later import into a
reconciliation tool.
The Check Register & Release program automatically creates transactions for each account,
ready for posting. |
The Check Writing Module adds value to the core system by … |
| |
|
| |
- safeguarding against missing a scheduled payment.
- reducing data entry work by transferring information from check writing to
transactions.
- combining multiple payments on one check to save postage and bank fees.
- reducing the chance of errors on checks by using pre-established payee information.
- protecting data integrity through an electronic audit log that tracks changes to payee
names or addresses.
|
| |
- ACH Export allows You to send payments electronically using the format required by
your bank.
- 1099-MISC Reporting consolidates amounts paid to the payees that you flag to
receive the form.
- Custom programming can provide MICR printing from multiple checking accounts
or automatic electronic signatures under conditions that you define. More check delivery
methods can be created, and special formulas set up for percentage calculations.
